Tutors

Learning to play a musical instrument can be daunting for a child. They must concentrate on coordinating their fingers, tongue, breathing, posture, reading notes, and keeping count. It can be challenging for parents to find a suitable teacher for their child’s chosen instrument. Before joining the orchestra, aspiring musicians should be taking lessons with a music tutor.

However, there’s some good news! Julianstown Youth Orchestra has partnered with various music schools and private instructors who can provide lessons to support their journey with the orchestra. We’re pleased to share this list with you; for more information, please email info@jyo.ie.

Instrument Rental

JYO offers affordable instrument loans. At present, the orchestra supplies violins, violas, cellos, double basses, piccolos, oboes, clarinets, bass clarinets, bassoons, French horns, trombones, and percussion instruments.

Renting an instrument from JYO costs €30 per year, with a €20 refundable deposit. However, members must also enroll in lessons for the chosen instrument. The Orchestra can suggest teachers for all instruments. To secure an instrument, please use the payment link provided below the form.
